The 18th Army Military Museum was opened on December 18, 1981. The museum was built between 1979-1981 to replace the  Cultural Center, the military base, restaurant "Isabella" and is also located on the ruins of  Prince Gurieli’s Palace. The opening was attended by the first secretary of the Central Committee Eduard Shevardnadze.

Opening of the 18th Army Museum (December 18, 1981)

The 18th Army Military Museum was opened on December 18, 1981. The museum was built between 1979-1981 to replace the Cultural Center, the military base, restaurant "Isabella" and is also located on the ruins of Prince Gurieli’s Palace. The opening was attended by the first secretary of the Central Committee Eduard Shevardnadze.
